Pergamon
The history of Pergamon starts with the Phrigians and Lydians. After
Alexander The Great had ended the Persian sovereginity in 334 B.C.
, first his son Herakles, then Lysimachos ruled the area, and the
Pergamom Kingdom was founded.
The city, which became part of the Roman Empire in 133 B.C. , later
in 1306 was added to Karasiogullari Principality and came under
Turkish Domination. After Ottomans possesed the city in 1341, Pergamon
had it's best period during the 14th and 15th century. The Greek
sovereginity which had started at 1919 went on till 1922.
