Menderes

The antique city of Lebedos, one of the 12 Ionian cities can be found located inside the district of Menderes. The settlers of this city are people from Efes, who were forcefully moved here. This is one of the first cities to print their own money. The historical city of Claros is also one of the main attractions of this area. Temple remains can be found here with some Greek pillars and columns still standing , here offerings were made to Apollon , Artemis and their mother.

It is very easy to reach Kuşadası , Efes and Theos from here. With beautiful bays and the opportunity to view a magnificent sunset, this area is a must to see. Having a glass of your favourite drink amongst the beauty of Özdere with its pine forests and pretty bays is a wonderful way to relax from the stress of the city.

Ozdere is famous for its citrus produce, especially satsumas. You can also make the most of your time wind surfing or fishing. Apart from the many hotels and boarding houses available in the area it is also possible to rent summer houses .

With its close location to Adnan Menderes Airport, İzmir and other places of interest are easy to reach and you will have no problem arranging day trips.
